Olympic Diploma for Samuel Sánchez in Time Trial!

Riding his Orbea Ordu, Samuel clocked the best intermediate times and provisionally held the gold medal, but he was then bested by time-trial experts Fabian Cancellara, from Switzerland, and Levi Leipheimer, from the US, who took gold and silver, respectively. The surprise of the day was Gustav Larsson, from Sweden, a dark horse who clocked the third best time to land a place on the Olympic podium.

Samuel's pedalling pace was excellent; his aerodynamic position, good; his strength, perfectly regulated; his symbiosis with his Ordu bike, fantastic. He completed the trial in 1:04:37, just 1min 16sec behind bronze-winner Leipheimer. It was an excellent performance, showing Sánchez's dramatic improvement in this type of races, helped by Orbea's wind tunnel tests. 

Great results for Orbea in Beijing so far: gold to Orca, a diploma for Ordu, and we still have to see what Absalon's Alma can do!
