Orbea’s Laura Bennett comes close to women’s triathlon podium

Laura Bennett has earned a new Olympic diploma for Orbea after finishing fourth this morning in the women's triathlon trial in Beijing. The triathlete fought for the bronze medal all throughout, landing fourth after clocking a time of 2:00:21, only 26 seconds behind Australia's Emma Moffatt.

"I'm really satisfied, for I put in everything I had," said Bennett soon after completing the 10km running course. Indeed, she can be content with her excellent performance. After the 1,5km swim she led out first of the water. Then, riding her Ordu, she was in the group of favourites fighting for an Olympic medal on the bike course. However, Australia's Emma Snowsill soon emerged as the big candidate for earning gold, which she did.

The silver medal went to Portugal's Vanessa Fernandes, while Bennett and Moffatt battled it out for bronze, which was finally won by the Australian triathlete, who was better at maintaining regularity. So Bennett got a well-deserved Olympic diploma, and it was a new success for Orbea in Beijing 2008.
